Junior Club Cricket - Under 11's

Exciting new U11'S formats were introduced in the 2017-18 season.

MORE FUN, MORE RUNS, MORE WICKETS = GREAT CRICKET!!

The Under 11's competition is a home and away comp, with modified rules. Everyone bats, bowls and fields. The U11's use a smaller, lighter, softer red ball than a full 6 stitcher.  Click to download rules

No previous playing experience is necessary to play community cricket, where participation, enjoyment and personal development are the focus for our kids.

The under 11's play their matches on Saturday mornings. The season runs during terms 4 and 1 with a break over the summer school holidays.  Training is on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

When batting the batter is in full cricket gear - helmet, pads, gloves etc. They bat for an allocated number of overs and if they get out the batters swap ends. Once the batting pairs' overs are up they swap with another pair.  Games go for 20 overs per side.

There is no ladder or finals played, although scores are kept so your child's statistics can be loaded in to the mycricket website.  The kids love seeing their names and stats on the website grow.

The cost of Under 11's is $130 for the season which includes use of the team’s playing equipment.  All you need to purchase is the uniform - shirt, pants and hat. Shirts and hats can be purchased from the club as they have our logo on them - $20 hat and $45 shirt.  Pants can be purchased from a cricket store, or Kmart / BigW.  For hygiene purposes you are encouraged to purchase your own protective cup, less than $10 from a sports store.

Fees are kept low because of all the wonderful parents and volunteers helping to get the kids out on the field!  Each team needs volunteers to help with coaching, umpiring, scoring and managing the team.  Given that teams have (approx.) 7 players, this means most families will need to help in some way – full training is available so please pitch in 😊

KidSport does provide a grant to cover the cost of registration fees for healthcare card holders and there is a limited club subsidy available for financial hardship – please email the club for more information.
